YeMoSys Bioscience (Yeast Model Systems), located at the University of Bonn, is a Biotech spin-off in cooperation with NeuroSearch and Sophion Bioscience with the core technology of pharma-/toxicological screening systems.

Advanced solutions for drug discovery and toxicity assessment comprise screening technologies based on the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The high homology of essential cellular metabolism in yeast and higher eukaryotes offers the possibility to use yeast as ion channel expression system and sets this organism apart from other eukaryotic experimental models. The availability of genetically defined yeast strains for the functional and targeted analysis of mammalian ion channels has enabled YeMoSys Biosciences to implement yeast as innovative model organism for new, sensitive and robust analysis- and detection systems.
